Day 20: Incorporate Color Into Your Home
Did I just scare half of your off from the title alone? I know we are mostly neutral girlies in this Mi Vida Collective community but I think that its time to do the scary thing and add a bit of color into our homes. Now, don't get crazy... I'm not saying we should add the rainbow into our homes (unless thats your thing.. then seriously do it). For day 20 of 31 Days of Loving Our Homes our resolution is to incorporate color into your home. The goal is to start slow.
The whole concept here is that often times a space can feel cold and unfinished when it is all very flat and one note. As a solution to this, lets spice things up a little bit by choosing one color to incorporate into our space. For example, I have been really wanting to add rich green tones into my space because I feel that it will add some depth and dimension to the space without being too different from the existing tones in the space.
Once you have chosen the color you would like to incorporate into the space, its important to choose more than one way to do so. Often times colors can seem random or ill-fitted for a space because they just aren't occurring in enough areas in the space. For example, if you paint a room a beautiful olive green but the color green appears nowhere else in the space... it may not seem cohesive. But, if you add a throw blanket or throw pillows that tie that color in, then it could be a great touch to the space overall!
The key is to picking a color that will not only work with your current color palette but that you are also willing to incorporate throughout the space.
