Day 6: Incorporate Self-Care Into Your Home
Honestly, I am super excited for Day 6 of "31 Days of Loving Our Homes" because it's the first day where we begin to discuss making actual changes in our spaces. With that said, I feel this is the perfect time to remind you that you are meant to partake in the affirmations this month that resonate with you. Not everyone has the same preferences and it is totally ok to skip out on anything that doesn't interest you!
So jumping right in... For Day 6, our affirmation is to incorporate self-care into our homes. I almost feel like ironically enough, the phrase self-care is so overused now a-days that it creates the illusion that we are all prioritizing it enough when in fact, that is not the case. And, what better way to make self-care a priority than by incorporating it into the spaces where we spend the most time?
Incorporating self-care into our spaces will likely look very different for everyone. Let's chat about different ways to knock out this resolutions...
How to Add Self-Care into Your Home:
If certain scents are calming for you, you could add candles/diffusers into your space with scents that will help you unwind.
If you are having trouble prioritizing relaxation, you could create an aesthetic yet functional space in your bathroom where you can display self-care products like salts, body scrubs and lotions.
You can use baskets to corral helpful tools like a yoga mat, a foam roller and other items that may help you to stretch and unwind.
Maybe one of these resonates with you or you can think of a totally different way to bring self-care into your space. It's all about incorporating physical reminders within your space that will help prompt you to take the time you need and deserve.
